For this personal project, I focused on completing every step, from modeling to lighting, in a short time frame. I wanted a character that would be manageable within this scope, and after some thought, I decided to recreate the plastic model kit of Tetsujin 28-go originally sold by Good Smile Company. This character was a great choice because its parts are simple to model, and there’s an abundance of reference photos available.

To give the final piece the look and feel of a model kit diorama, I added elements like dirt and scratches in Substance Painter and placed the robot on a turntable with destroyed walls and trees from Quixel Megascans. These touches help to convey a sense of scale, bringing the character to life in a unique way.
